School Observation

During my observation I learned that the school I was at had a garden. This garden was used for both science classes and the culinary program. I thought this combination of learning to cook in the kitchen and to use food grown in a garden outside was great because it provides nutrition, teaches hands on learning and the importance of local food. Below I have posted a link to A toolkit for high schools to grow food. This toolkit was developed in Vancouver.

  1. Great ideas. School gardens have a strong impact on the culture of the school particularly in inner city schools.
